… and the winner is … Auro!

In its May 2006 edition, the renowned German consumer magazine test has acknowledged what you knew all the time:  Auro No. 160 is the first choice where exterior woodstains are desired.

The magazine did an extensive test of 22 woodstains from well-known conventional producers as well as natural paint companies. The products tested were from all ranges, Aqua, Solvent, or HighSolid.

Auro Woodstain No. 160 emerged from this test as the overall best product and has been declared test winner. We are especially proud of the cumulative grade of 1.8 (on a scale from 1, “very good”, to 5, “bad”) because the test magazine, other than Oekotest, often takes up a rather sceptical position against eco products. Given these preconditions, this result comes close to a sensation.

The Auro Woodstain shows much better features than competing conventional products and also by far outdoes stains from producers who approach the market with an “ecological” argumentation. We believe it to be a confirmation of our raw material and product philosophy that a direct competitor from the field of natural paints gathers a devastating 4.2 grade in the “environment and health” part of the test (Auro: 1.4).

In all sections of the test (weather resistance, technical features, application, environment, health, declaration), Auro Woodstain No. 160 received “good” to “very good” results. The magazine sums up the test as follows:

“The test winner Auro shows that modern woodstains can get along without any solvents and still protect from wind and weather. This is good for the wood and for the environment.”
